Things I love

This month I thought I would share some of the things I love about living in Afghanistan (in no particular order)

 Beautiful flowers, especially roses, irises (my personal favourite) and tulips

Afghan hospitality - there is always a warm welcome

Afghan food - particularly mantoo and qabali pilau

The unusual things there are to see and do (see some pics below)

Mountain views - especially the snow capped ones!

No two days are ever the same

The juxtaposition between the traditional and the modern, cars next to donkey drawn carts.

There are seasons!

Grapes preserved in mud cakes!

 The variety of people who live and work here, everyone has an interesting story.

Working with people who have been through some truly terrible things and still have hope for the future.
